I met a man this past weekend that was heartbroken and could not sleep properly. Why? It is because the person he'd trusted the most on the face of the earth, betrayed him. Apparently this gentleman had entrusted his entirety to a man he said was his 'best-friend,' and things he knew he was the only one he'd shared with, was said to a group of people that now mock him. So he feels so betrayed and dejected. Now you can understand his pains, heartache, and lack of sleep?
Isn't that how we all feel when people whom we've given our hearts to, turn around and stab it into pieces? Sometimes, the pieces look unfixable depending on how battered we feel, but there's good news! Before I share this great , I want you to know that God NEVER said to put your trust in man?
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he direct your paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6).
This simply means, all your heart issues, and deep secrets of the heart, must be put ONLY in God. Once you trust in The Lord, then He will open your inner eyes to be highly sensitive, and discerning to know the intent of man before walking with such.
I have seen countless human beings depressed, shattered, and some lost hope completely because of betrayal of friends, loved ones, spouses, family members, and parents. This is why it's important you only walk with man, and your trust must be solely in God, to avoid any ache, pain, and shame.
"Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. They collapse and but we rise and stand upright. (Psalms 20:7-8).
Isn't this a total description of someone that has been heartbroken? A heartbroken man or woman always fall to their faces in agony, disbelief, and may not be able to stand upright or rise for a while. The text sums it up: if you put your trust in anything mortal or earthly, you'll collapse and fall, but those who put their trust in immortality and the supreme God, will always rise and stand upright.
If you are asking, shouldn't I then trust my husband or wife? The bible says, "the two shall become one flesh; naked and unashamed", (Genesis 2:23-24); meaning you and your spouse are one flesh. Therefore, you both must put your trust in The Lord, while you remain naked (no secrets) in each others eyes forever. Not telling your neighbors, friends, relatives, parents, etc, things your husband told you in secret and vice versa.
Therefore, the good news is if you've been a victim of "betrayal of trust", God is the ONLY one who can heal your broken heart, and mend all broken pieces. The same One who you can only trust your heart with, is the same One that is the heart fixer. Therefore pray this prayer: "Father, heal my heart and give me wisdom to only walk with men, but trust in you completely. Amen"
Lastly, Wisdom is profitable to direct, therefore it's wisdom that will make you succeed in life. (Ecclesiastes 10:10b).  So, choose wisely who you give your heart to, but I will forever choose to put my own trust in The Lord always. What about you?
