The Kritikal Buzz with Dami B & DJ Xplizitsouljah- 6

Fresh Buzz- Clay Ft One Last Autograph- Down Dami B: Nigerian Rock is something new to me. But I must admit I don't entirely hate it,....It's different. I liked the opening visuals with the falling rose with the famous Mahatma Gandhi quote. There were alot of references to world suffering depicted in different scenes such as riots, children starving etc....I guess that's what Clay means when she sings "We are going down" DJ Xplizitsouljah: The rock scene brings an entirely fresh perspective and the one sided perception to the over saturated pop situation in the scene. I must admit that clay has big balls for veering left. Hopefully with time she will gain the needed notoriety to be a household name. I like the fact that it's a serious message about the way the world is now, totally goes with the deep messages usually associated with rock music So the library shots played a great part in the making of the video. Without them it would have been a bland video Dami B: Yes I completely agree with that Xplizitsouljah, the video would not have made as much sense without the 'library shots' and I did like some of the abstract images such as the dart bursting the water filled balloon filled with water, glass cups smashing etc. DJ Xplizitsouljah: Yes that added great effect to the visuals too driving home the message in the video. Here's my issue with the video. I think when this song was recorded they had no idea how they intended to present the total visual package. Dami B: Why do you say that? DJ Xplizitsouljah: Two major things stuck for me here: they tried to play with the idea of Goth here but it is not in the least believable. This is where you see clay in the black long dress and tiara…… Also the picture quality of the video is supposed to play along that line but it didn't score….that's for me anyway! Added to that is the scary screaming voice which I would be honest was nailed in the recording booth but on video the dude didn't come across as owning that voice. He at best came across as trying to role play but only his lips moved the rest of his body was dead to the character! I think Clay needs to really study the gothic image a la Kiss and understand what it should look like on picture. Or even Avril Lavigne can give that female perspective of Goth. Dami B: True...As I said #NaijaRock isn't something I would ordinarily watch or listen to but I still have a certain amount of respect for Clay for deciding to do something different. Can Rock music survive in Nigeria, yes, easily. As long as artists like her and One Last Autograph keep doing their thing as it is, people will eventually sit up and take real notice. I rate this video as 7/10. Well done to Clay! DJ Xplizitsouljah: My gifting to this video is 6 out of 10 slaps (6/10) and I would encourage clay to keep at it but also try to make it as great an art possible too. Hot Buzz- Seyi Shay Ft Wizkid- Crazy DJ Xplizitsouljah: People are making power moves now to get the attention of the music industry. This is where you have not so new comer Seyi Shay collaborating with household name Wizkid We already know Seyi Shay to be intentionally making statements with her risqué outfits so it comes as no surprise that there were lots of it in this video. Dami B: I agree, the costumes she wears in this video are Avante Garde, very creative and unique! However I'm not "crazy" about the song itself. I feel that Naija music is getting too repetitive and sounding the same, and Wizkid didn't add much to it in my opinion. It sounds like any other song out there now….It feels like they are running out of ideas…. But enough about the song. The video REALLY helps it because without this creative visuals I would not even bother to listen to the song! DJ Xplizitsouljah: Oh really?, because I think Wizkid added the flavour necessary to the track that is not to say that it's unique because it isn't for me. Nothing new with the song here….. Well I guess there was an effort to present crazy in the video with all the ‘razzmatazz’ that was going on. I would have preferred that Seyi had used a video model for the guy she's crazy about cos using Wizkid has already been done by Saeon which seems kinda like an old idea! But I have to appreciate how ‘artsy’ the video is, as that makes it quite memorable! Dami B: Yes and to me they were not even believable as a couple, if that's what they were trying to portray. But yes I think the man painted in white and the Chinese female contortionist was pretty cool! Having just one female dancer to focus on also helped and I liked the costume the dancer wore over her head covering her face. DJ Xplizitsouljah: For me the music isn't that great but I know it's a hit in the clubs so I have to appreciate that. The video is quite memorable and it's the contortionist that stayed with me. On that note I offer this video 6 out of 10 slaps (6/10) and that is quite generous in my opinion. Dami B: Seyi Shay worked her sex appeal as she rightly should, as they say "if you got it flaunt it" but the concept of being so crazy in love could have been depicted alot better. I also gift this 6/10 and I am also being generous. Xtra Buzz- Di’Ja- Awww Dami B: Let me begin with WOW!!! There was a reason I liked Di’Ja from the beginning and watching this video reminds me why! She is absolutely stunning as an artist and adorable and kind hearted as a person. Other females in the game need to WATCH OUT coz she's about to start runnin' this! DJ Xplizitsouljah: I'd be honest that whoever came up with this video idea is quite clever. This gives Di’ja a sweetheart persona and that heart-warming feel. Even if you don't know her you are bound to love her on the strength of this video. Very clever again I say!! We all know she's on the Mavins roster but she avoids anything extravagant in the pictures which is why I said this is a clever video! Dami B: Definitely, being a Mavin prodigy; this video could have gone down a cliche flashy route but I respect how Di’ja has chosen to stay in her own lane and not be rushed or compared or in any competition with others. Respect to for taking the time to nurture his artists and pay EQUAL amount of attention to each artist and their videos and songs! Although it does remind me of Rihanna's video ft Drake-Take Care, but this is a compliment because I could see this video comparing with the biggest American/Western videos out there today! DJ Xplizitsouljah: I know it's tough to walk in the shadows of great names but she is on the road to being noticed and heralded for sure. And yes Dami there's a few borrowings from the Take Care video you just mentioned but I hope she stays classy as depicted in this video. I see innocence being portrayed here with the whites and all that but time will tell if we should believe this. I rate the video by giving it 8 of 10 slaps (8/10). Although, it is quite a surprise that Yaro isn't the first video done or maybe I've missed that? Dami B: My only hiccup is that I do NOT want her to lose any more weight! She was always quite slim to begin with but I don't want her to go overboard and become too skinny. It won't help her image….. But Dija can perfectly pull off a class, hipster or tomboy look without a sweat...flawless! No, this is definitely her first video on her own I believe. It is an Impressive very simple and straight to the point video and the song is definitely dope too. I rate this video as 9/10, and off I go to download it right now to my phone! LOL! 

Did you all notice something? DJ Xplizit souljah is always bullz eye with the criticisms and hits. I love her/his style of criticizing. While Dami B just goes with the flow and says anything that soothes. This episode of “The Kritikal buzz” wasn’t as drama filled as with the last one where they were virtually on each other’s neck opposing their different ideas. Again…that Di’Ja’s Awww…video was true according to the critics…i rate it an 8.5/10 though!

I love that Clay’s song…She’s prolly the first Female Rock artiste in Nigeria even Africa. As for the review…they did justice to all the videos.I think Wizkid is going flat these days. He needs to change one or two things about the brand else he’ll just fade out. I think I have a crush on Dija
