Bestman Games in conjunction with Junior Achievement Nigeria organized an outstanding one-day tournament between a host of schools across Lagos. The City of Lagos Edition of Monopoly Inter-School tournament was an exciting school social event held at Terra Kulture in Victoria Island on Tuesday, December 10th, 2013.
The grand cash prize of N500,000 was sponsored by First Bank of Nigeria Plc and was awarded to Umoh Blessing, a 10year old student of Caro Favoured College, Ajegunle. Blessing also received 365days worth of meal vouchers from Sweet Sensation eatery as well as a super-size City of Lagos Monopoly board courtesy of Bestman Games. The second prize was an electronic tablet sponsored by online retailer Jumia.com and went to Ndu Godfrey of Top Grade Secondary School, Surulere and the 3rd prize went to Ayotunde Olaita of Fountain Heights School who received 180 days worth of meal vouchers from 3 Cousins and a Crook BBQ, Lekki.
To mark its one-year anniversary, Bestman Games, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility will donate City of Lagos Monopoly boards to the students of the winning school. With the support of Lagos State Government and Junior Achievement Nigeria, Bestman Games is using this novel tool to present some basic lessons in resource management by educating players – students especially, about the importance of financial literacy and the encouragement of personal financial responsibility from an early age.
Special guests in attendance included, Her Excellency, Dame Emmanuela Abimbola Fashola, Assistant Director of Education, Mrs Balogun Oluremi, Head, CSR for First Bank of Nigeria Plc., Mr. Ismail Omamegbe, MD, Sweet Sensation, Mr Tunde Kamson and Directors of Bestman Games, Mr. Odein Ajumogobia, and Mrs. Ibukun Awosika.
