If you’re like me and shuttle the mainland –island most days for that paper, you are probably tired and as tense as a freshly starched shirt.
Anyway I commute for work to island which means I tend to sit in way more traffic than id like to, so I promised myself to catch beauty breaks on my days off.
Whether it’s homemade skin refreshments or the occasional food splurge, I’m making a point to find pleasure on free days.
So piped with a quest for a beauty adventure, I looked on the mainland to find somewhere to relax hopefully to bone melting massages without breaking the bank.
Beautyxtraodinary Spa is tucked nicely in one of the mall complexes off Osho link road, Ikeja was a little hidden treasure of some sort. I went in for a single valentine package I booked a month ago and they were nice to accommodate my constant reschedules. The package included
A hammam bath: Rubbed down with some dark mix of organic soap of some sort, I sat in a steam bath for at least 20 minutes, I felt my pores open up while I relaxed a little. I took a warm shower and prepared for
The Massage: For me this was easily the best part, I could feel all the tension of the weeks past ease out to the tough but gentle hands of the masseuse who moved like she knew what she was doing.
Facial: My session ended with an organic facial where the scrub came with a mini face rub which was relaxing.
I threw in a pedicure to gauge if they’d know what they were doing, a lot of mainland spas/salons use a blade to shed the dead skin which is appalling and leaves your feet scaly.
Over all while the space wasn’t the most glamourous, the service was astounding! And the throwback music of Celine Dion was a touch of #SaltBae.
