ICT Minister, ITU Deputy Secretary General Visit Etisalat Exhibition Stand At ITU Would 2014

Dr. Omobola Johnson, Honourable Minister of Communication Technology at the recently concluded ITU world conference in Doha visited the Etisalat Stand shortly after Speaking during the official opening of the Nigerian pavilion which was sponsored by 's most reliable network, Etisalat, in partnership with other stakeholders. ITU World 1A The Minister highlighted similarities between the theme of the ITU conference “Future in Focus” and the Nigerian government. She said, “The theme of ITU world 2014 resonates with the Nigerian government as we work to build a better and brighter future for our people. Nigeria has developed key policies and initiatives that have set the foundation for the widespread use of ICT by government and businesses. Conversations at the ITU Telecom World on key trends, developments, business and applications will be invaluable in helping us in to build a better future in the ICT industry.” ITU World 1 Director, Government and Regulatory Affairs at Etisalat Nigeria, Ibrahim Dikko commended the Ministry and NCC for developing clear policies to guide the industry and promoting competition among the operators.     This conference was well timed because at this point in our development as an country, we need to discuss and iron out the modalities that will lead us to tap and reap abundantly from the use of ICT within every sphere of our daily national life.
