Guinness Nigeria Reward Distributors for Outstanding Performance

In recognition of the importance of trade partners, particularly distributors, to its continued growth, Guinness Nigeria Plc., held its 2014 Distributors’ Conference and Awards Night on Friday, July 11, 2014. The event was a platform for Guinness Nigeria to reward outstanding distributors, announce new incentives to all trade partners, as well as receive feedback on its brands and innovation pace from its trade partners. At the event, distributors from the company’s sales division across the country were rewarded for outstanding performances in volume sales and distribution of various products. Some of the award categories include: Divisional Highest Volume Award, National Highest Growth Award, and National Highest Volume Award. In his welcome address at the event, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Guinness Nigeria Plc, Mr. Seni Adetu commended the trade partners for their contributions to the growth and success of the company’s business in the previous year. He noted that their individual efforts have helped the company to sustain its leadership position in the brewery sector. “We are excited to have this ceremony once again to show our appreciation to you our esteemed partners who have persistently pushed the Guinness brand to a great level. It has not been an easy journey but one way or the other we’ve worked together to achieve great results and we are proud to be partners with you and we hope to further entrench this rewarding relationships in the next year so we can achieve even better results” he stated. Prizes given to partners include plaques, certificates, tricycles, 10KVA generators, 1.5 ton Tata trucks, 3 ton Hyundai trucks and 6 ton Mitsubishi trucks among many others. Winners in the Divisional Highest Volume category were Peter Afunnaya Peter Afunnaya, owner of Peterco Global Investment Ltd in Jos; Taofeek Sodia owner of Tacho Nigeria Ltd in Lagos-West; Onanubi Adebanjo of Cryslad Nigeria Limited and Jimoh Ogungbola of J. Ogungbola& Sons Limited, Ibadan. Others are Dr. Patrick Ikechukwu Esomonu of Pattoria Nigeria Limited, Enugu; Mrs. Clara Passu of Garranzia Nigeria Ltd, Benin; Chief Dr Edmond Okafor of Edinho Nigeria Ltd, in Abuja and Dame Joy Igwe owner of Ifeoma Chukwuka Nigeria Ltd in Aba. They all won 1.5 tons Tata truck. Highlight of the night was the announcement of Dr. Edmond Okafor as the winner of the No Failed Payment Special Award category and the DTAT category. He was rewarded with the sum of One Million Naira for the former and won Five Hundred Thousand Naira as the winner of the DTAT category. The No Failed Payment Special Award Category according to Adetu, was in recognition of Okafor’s consistency in making full payments as and when due. Speaking to journalist after receiving the awards, Dr. Chief Edmond Okafor, restated his commitment to pushing the limits for Guinness Nigeria brands in the alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage market in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory. "I can say without fear of contradiction by other Guinness Nigeria distributors that the company is a valuable business partner. I commend Guinness Nigeria for treating us as a part of the organization and for giving us the benefits accrued to us which further helps us achieve our objectives and increase our sales. As distributors, we can only continue to work harder to improve on our achievements year on year with Guinness Nigeria and never stop," he pledged.
