So this week, the gods of fashion and accessories brought this one to me via a post on Instagram ”actually I read a post few weeks back on his birthday”, I read and wasn’t really astounded till I met this wonderful individual at his workspace and was sold just by his impeccable penchant for looking and making you look good. Meet Sola “Flip the Preach” Balogun.
Adesola Balogun was born in the early 1980s in Lagos where he grew up in a family of six. An alumnus of The Federal University of Technology, Akure where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Urban and Regional Planning, he always had a creative disposition and a passion for expressing himself through the arts.
He started his entrepreneurship journey and foray into fashion in 2005 when he started selling clothes to his friends, colleagues and even his lecturers. The small business has since evolved into Outspok'n, a bespoke tailoring brand which has styled and made outfits for individuals from different walks of life, captains of industries and celebrities and which he serves as the creative director.
He is an avid jazz listener, an Arsenal fan and a pop culture enthusiast. He also writes for various fashion blogs and columns and finds time to mentor up and coming fashion entrepreneurs.
Adesola is married to Gbemisola, they have a daughter and they live and work in Lagos, Nigeria
