DDB, Anakle win Sterling Bank’s creative, digital marketing accounts

Award winning creative agency, DDB Lagos has been selected to lead the creative communications of Sterling Bank. The agency got the approval of the bank after an intense pitch contest that involved a number of other top agencies in Nigeria. In the same vein, Anakle will headline the bank’s digital marketing campaigns after it shrugged off competition from top digital agencies like Hot Sauce and Ringier Digital Marketing. The creative contest put DDB Lagos on collision course with Noah’s Ark, Yellow Bricks Road and Republicom. At the end of the pitch which lasted for weeks, DDB was considered the agency with superior understanding of the Sterling bank’s brand and one with better capacity to improve on the bank’s brand equity. Sterling Bank has over the years been at the fore front of producing some of Nigeria’s great marketing campaigns from the banking sector. It one customer bank campaign has been rated highly by analysts because it resonated well with Nigerians and clearly drove top of the mind awareness for the ambitious financial institution. Speaking on the expectations of the bank from the two winning agencies Ayoola Ashaolu of Sterling bank said “They must come up with award winning communication materials that resonate with our target audience as a complete 360 Digital Marketing/Creative partner. Create a distinct identity and measurable increase the bottom line for product campaign and make Sterling Bank a cool, real brand.”
