ASUU And Federal Government Reach Agreement Over Universities Strike
According to Nigerian News paper Premium Times the executives of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) have reached an agreement with the Federal Government during negotiations.
After about 12 hours, 30 minutes of negotiation the academic union has agree to consider the offer made by the FG and subsequently end the strike action.
The ASUU executives mentioned that the proposal made by the FG was taken. However, this offer by the FG would be communicated back to all its members. The academic union also informed tgat a feedback will be brought to the Federal Government in a week's time.
Speaking to journalists, the ASUU national president Biodun Ogunyemi said the union will be back after a week to reach final decisions with government.
