AQUAFINA CROWNS MAYOWA & VICTOR AS ELITE MODELS
The ladies all looked beautiful with intimidating heights and tiny waists that could be spanned with the palms while the guys looked as if they stepped out of GQ magazines with their broad shoulders and six-pack chests. That was the sight that hit the guests at the grand finale of Aquafina Elite Model Looks held in Lagos last weekend.
It was obvious not just to a few that the judges, which included former Miss World, Agbani Darego, celebrity photographer, Kelechi Amadi-obi, the Senior Marketing Manager of PepsiCo International, Mr. Shakeel Akram and Taokeek Okoya, would have a tough time deciding who to crown the queen and king of the runway.
It was a night of style, fashion and high octane entertainment as the male and female contestants dazzled in different outfits by top class local and international designers. Some of the designers included Sanusi Lagos, Grey, Tzar, Andrea Iyamah, Agbani Darego, Sisiano and Mimi Lee London among others.
After serenading the guests with different looks and with ohhs, ahhs and wows erupting from different corners, the judges eventually made their decision by crowning Mayowa Nicholas and Victor Ndigwe as the winners.
Speaking on her victory, the 16-year-old female model said amid tears, “This is the happiest moment of my life, I feel so great. The journey to winning this contest was very challenging but it was fun because I learnt a lot; how to smile, pose but when I heard my name, I didn’t believe it at first. I thank Aquafina for this opportunity. Believe me, you don’t know what winning the Aquafina Elite Model Look Nigeria contest means to me.”
The male winner, Victor, commended Aquafina for giving him a new story in life: “Take it from me, Aquafina is purity guaranteed and the brand together with Elite Model Look proved that true beauty is indeed from within. It wasn’t easy, from thousands to 20 contestants, I couldn’t hold back my tears even as a man because the joy was too great to suppress.”
The young lads automatically have become $5,000 richer and would represent Nigeria in the global edition of the contest with the chances of winning $150, 000.
