Acting on a business plan

By  |  2 Comments
So I received this call few years ago from a lady who had gotten my number from someone I respect. She wanted me to develop a business plan for her proposed venture. Business plan ke? I no do o! So I respectfully declined.. 'Madam I don't write business plans any more but I know some good hands I can refer'. The woman no gree o..infact she begged... She went further saying 'Mrs xxxx speaks highly of you and says you write very effective business plans, it will be wise I go with her recommendation. Yomi, can you pls consider this'. Chai..see washing! Writing a business plan is mentally draining for me. And it distracts me from my main job. So I avoid writing it. Na so I charge this woman one big money o...and she agreed to pay. Instantly asked for my account details. I worked my butt out on that business plan. Delivered it few weeks later and I never saw the woman again. Na so another feasibility study carry me go Island last week and I remembered the woman was on that road, so I decide to pay a visit. Wow!!! It was I going through the business plan again. Everything I had recommended on branding and ambience was put to use. Even the choice of the front desk officer was 'strictly' from the plan. But 'madam' was in a meeting and had some people waiting for her. So I just dropped my card and left...HAPPILY! ...............................She has just called again. IMG-20170302-WA0027 My advice: Once you get someone who is competent and capable of writing you a business plan, you've done 30% of the job. The remaining 70% solely depends on your willingness to act wholeheartedly on all recommendation...ALL!
